It happens to the best of us, we have dreams and goals we set out to achieve and somewhere along the way we get stuck.
Sometimes it’s in our control, other times there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
Maybe you are working a job where if you could, the middle finger salute could be your greeting to your coworkers, a job that doesn’t fulfill what you believe your purpose is.
Or maybe you are in a work place that drains you and you don’t feel valued.
It is not just the work place that can get you down, it can be your personal life too.
Have you been dreaming of crossing things off your bucket list, but haven’t had the money to do so? What about a hobby you want to get back into you had to put on hold due to the stress of everything else in life?
Whatever your struggle might be, today let’s make a conscious decision together to change the way we think about it.
I know what you’re thinking, ” so much easier said than done” right? You are right! But I am here to help you through this.
At the end of the tunnel there is light:
When you are in a negative place always remind yourself how much life you have yet to live.
Long term, is your current situation your end all be all? Most likely the answer to that question is always no.
When I really take time to reflect I like to think about those competition shows where the contestants have to use their strength to work their way up an obstacle course, at the top is a shiny bell they get to ring once they’ve finished.
When those contestants are climbing, they go through pain, disappointment, fatigue and even self doubt. One person may get to the bell before the other but their process to the top was the same.
With that being said, know that with all things there is a process, you never see those contestants whip out their wings and fly to the bell do you?
Although that would be pretty cool and ideal for us all, we have to endure pain, struggle and even environments we don’t like to ring that bell.
Stay positive, it will ALWAYS benefit you:
While I was in school I did several internships. Some I loved, others I tolerated. My biggest take away from each experience was to walk in there every single day as if I was walking into the doors of my dream job.
Even if I wasn’t getting paid I worked as if I was getting cut a million dollar check. I knew my time was temporary but I treated everyone with respect and always helped out wherever I was needed.
When you have work ethic and a positive attitude to match you will soar, both in your personal and professional life.
Every single one of my internships turned into a job offer, and all of those jobs turned into life long references. Even better, although leaving was my choice, because of my attitude my bosses always told me if I ever needed somewhere to come back to I always had a place.
I share my story because if I were to maintain a “stuck” attitude I would never have been able to move on to bigger and better things. That defeated attitude would have blocked my future blessings.
Do what you can do, the rest will follow:
Try this, every day do one thing that will contribute to getting that dream job or free up that time where you can pick that hobby backup again.
If you are putting in the work towards the things that make you happy you will regain your confidence to go out and kick butt!
When you focus on what you CAN control and let go of what you can’t you will give God room to do the rest for you.
I hope this helped someone struggling with where they are in life.
Continue reminding yourself, “IT IS TEMPORARY” .
