Skin care has always been so important to me. It is so much more than the products that you lather on your face. Eating healthy foods, and drinking more water than I can handle really has helped me feed my skin from the inside out. When figuring out a routine that worked best for me I first had to identify the type of skin I have. There are several different categories your skin can fall under and mine just so happens to be “oily”. I believe I google searched something along the lines of “how to know what kind of skin I have”. Once I figured out the type of skin I had I started searching the products that were best for my skin type. For instance if my skin was dry and sensitive I would not want to get a cleanser or products with really harsh chemicals or drying ingredients. To remove my make before I wash my face I put pure coconut oil on to a cotton swab and wipe it away. I found this to be a lot less expensive than buying makeup wipes all the time and less wasteful. I first start with my “holy grail” exfoliating cleanser that I have used the longest and is probably the cheapest. St.Ives Apricot exfoliating cleanser has been amazing to my skin it gently exfoliates my skin without the use of harsh ingredients and also does pretty good at preventing breakouts from clogged pores. Another cleanser that I just started using but has been amazing for my oily skin and dark marks has been the Mario Badescu Glycolic Cleanser. It is surprisingly inexpensive and removes all of the dirt, oil and makeup from my skin and gives it a smooth finish. The Glycolic Acid is great for fading dark marks and fighting breakouts. If I am having a really hard time with problem areas or breakouts I will use the amazing Aztec Healing Clay mix with Apple Cider Vinegar as a face mask and that truly gets all of that nasty stuff out of my pores and polishes a fresh new layer of skin.

I also like to use Witch Hazel as a toner, it is 100% natural and gentle on the skin it is great for wiping away any excess cleanser or oil that could cause clogged pores. I then use a mixture of 100% Aloe Vera Gel and Almond oil to moisturize my face. Sometimes I will use one or the other and other times I will mix them together.
If I add anything else to my routine I will be sure to let you know but for now I like to keep it simple.

I have linked the products above.
